How do you control termites in tree stumps?
- If there are tree stumps or dead trees on your property, it's only a matter of time before termites enter your house. Now is the time to take action to eliminate them before they get inside.
- We recommend removing the stumps or dead trees immediately and scheduling a free termite inspection.
What is the average cost of termite control?
- The cost of termite control varies based on the shape and size of the structure, and the level of termite infestation that may be present. Since drywood termites are either fumigated with gas or treated with foam, pricing is based on the cubic feet instead of square feet.
- When our inspectors measure your home, they will measure the roof pitch to determine the correct amount of gas. We'll also identify if a crawl space is present, which would require more gas to kill all of the drywood termites present.
- For subterranean termite control, since bait stations and treatments are applied along the exterior foundation, pricing is based on linear feet. Our inspectors will check for areas of pavers and concrete, which would adjust the treatment price based on if any drilling would be required or not.
How do you control termites in wood?
If termites have gotten into the wood in your house, you need professional termite control. They will not leave on their own, and do-it-yourself treatment methods are not effective at eliminating a termite colony that can be hidden throughout wood in your walls and attic.
At LaJaunie's Pest Control, we provide tent fumigation, no tent termite control, termite bait stations, termite trenching, and termite pre-treatments to completely exterminate termites in the wood of your home.
How do you control termites in soil?
Although termites in the soil around your home is something to be concerned about, it's better to find them there than to find them in your house.
However, if they are in the soil, that means they are likely the more destructive subterranean termites, so it's important to contact a professional termite control company as soon as possible.
To control termites in soil, we offer both termite bait stations and termite trenching, both of which are effective ways to eliminate subterranean termites and guarantee they don't come back.
To help prevent termites, we also apply termite pre-treatments directly to the soil surface before concrete is poured for structural foundations.
What is the first sign of termites?
It depends on the termite species and what type of termite it is. Your first sign of a drywood termite infestation is likely to be the appearance of termite frass. The frass, or droppings, of termites are hard and dry and can be mistaken for sawdust or dirt.
Your first sign of a subterranean termite infestation is likely to be mud tubes. These can appear on your foundation walls and other hard surfaces. Subterranean termites use these tubes to go from the soil to the wood of your home. You may also seeing swarming subterranean termites within your home.
